Welcome to the Bugfest Primary Page

Like you, we are passionate about education.

Bug visits in schools.

Imagine a lesson with creatures from around the world, children excited and wide eyed, Smart resources, and a lesson plan, that takes 30 seconds to write – That’s the power of Bugfest!

School assemblies

bug visits to schools

We can dress one end of your main hall with an exciting jungle display and entertain the entire school in one go, with our wild and lively nature shows. They are audience participatory and can kickstart the day with a bang.

Preschool bug visits

Preschool visits are similar in format to a normal class visit, but we do deliver them differently.  For preschool, we  recommend a relaxed approach, with smaller groups of around ten children, and half an hour per group.

Bugfest loves bringing your favourite science, animals, Africa and nature topics to life...

Rainforests

Find out about the animals that live in rainforests.

Learn about the different layers of the rainforest, and just how important rainforests actually are.

Africa

Discover the vast array of animals to be found in Africa.

So, we can’t bring you a lion or a cheetah, but we have cool minibeasts from Africa for your children to learn about.

Habitats

Discover how creatures are adapted to living in their habitats and how they fit into their own little niches.

Discover what habitats are and how they are made up.

Eco Systems

Made of multiple habitats eco systems can be vast and complex.

Here you will learn about all the animals that live within them and how an ecosystem is built up.

Endo/Exo-skeletons

Most things have a skeleton, but what kind is it?

What is it made from? Why do we need them? Does every living thing have one? Can a creature have more than one type of skeleton?

Humans and Animals

Humans and animals have many similarities, but also differences.

Discover the animal kingdom with the Bugfest minibeasts and find out why we all need each other.

Living/not living?

The world is full of amazing things to see and learn about, some are living, some not living, but some non-living things can seem to be living.

How curious is that?

Plant/Animal/Fungus?

Fungi are super heroes! Because, had they not made the leap to land some 500-600 MYA, plants and minibeasts would not have had so easy a time.

What would happen if they disappeared?

Classification

Scientists like to organise things and put them into neat boxes, it’s true! In 1753 Carl Linnaeus devised the binomial system to eradicate many names for the same thing.

How good is your Latin?
