Bugfest Minibeasts at Small Events
Bugfest is a must-have for your community event.
However big or small your event, we can bring some exotic wildlife excitement for you. We have our own 6x3m gazebo available on a first come first served basis, which we can dress up to create an unbeatable display for your visitors.
More often than not, we are booked out to numerous venues on the same day, in such instances, we will need you to provide us with a suitable shelter of similar proportions so that we can set up our display for your visitors.
In cold spells, we will need an electric supply so that we can provide heat for our animals, and if it is hot, we will need to be in a sheltered position to avoid them overheating.
If the weather is too cold, we will not be able to get them out for handling due to the adverse effect it will have on our animals’ welfare.
With Bugfest being such a popular choice for community events, it is a wise decision to get in touch with us as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. We are friendly and proficient and look forward to answering your questions and working closely with you to ensure that our part of your event runs smoothly and is a roaring success.
How much will a bug visit to your event cost?
With such a wide variety of events out there, we have developed a range of options to suit all budgets.
Can my visitors/festival goers handle the minibeasts?
Yes, absolutely, however, we do not allow children to handle tarantulas or anything potentially irritant or venomous. Adults are more than welcome to hold tarantulas.
Scorpions, giant centipedes, and bullet ants are only handled by our highly trained professional Bufest team.
Community Event Packages
The All Day Basic Handling Package
For this provision, we bring along a small light setup of invertebrates in easily transportable boxes, where we can present short handling talks to small groups of up to thirty at a time.
We require you to provide a gazebo, minimum of three metres by three metres and a table, preferably in the shade of trees, to place our invertebrates on, from which we can facilitate, and introduce your visitors to our amazing range of minibeasts from all around the world.
This needs to be set up and in situ prior to our arrival.
Prices for attendance for this package start at £135+vat for one hour.
For each additional hour the rate per hour reduces.
Two hours: £260+vat
Three hours: £375+vat
Four hours: £480+vat
Five hours:£575+vat
Travel costs of £30+vat per hour all round are applied for all destinations from our presenters’ home bases to cover fuel, vehicle depreciation and an element of paid travel time for staff (this is paid directly to your presenter, we don’t keep this).
If your presenter has an hour and a half to travel each way, there will be an additional travel element of £90+vat on top of cost for attendance.
Congestion and ULEZ charges are additional.
You are more than welcome to sell timetabled tickets to help cover our fees, and many of our community event clients engage the sponsorship of our attendance from local companies, many of whom like to be associated with the UK’s largest entomology experience and education company, and our green ethics and credentials.
The All Day Advanced Handling Package
For this provision, we bring along a professional display of invertebrates in naturalised enclosures, where we can not only present short handling talks to small groups of up to thirty at a time, but your visitors can also see the animals in naturalised environments.
We provide our own six by three metre gazebo, and our own tables to place our invertebrates on, from which we can facilitate, and introduce your visitors to our amazing range of minibeasts from all around the world. You just need to give us a suitably sized area, preferably in the shade of trees, to make the magic happen for you.
Prices for attendance for this package start at £285+vat for one hour.
For each additional hour the rate per hour reduces.
Two hours: £410+vat
Three hours: £525+vat
Four hours: £630+vat
Five hours:£725+vat

For this provision, we bring along a professional display of invertebrates in naturalised enclosures, where we can not only present short handling talks to small groups of up to thirty at a time, but your visitors can also see the animals in naturalised environments.
We provide two presenters to cope with larger crowds. If you are expecting five hundred to one thousand visitors, you will need this package, otherwise, your visitors are not going to all get to see or handle the animals.
As well as two handlers, we provide our own six by three metre gazebo, and our own tables to place our invertebrates on, from which we can facilitate, and introduce your visitors to our amazing range of minibeasts from all around the world. You just need to give us a suitably sized area, preferably in the shade of trees, to make the magic happen for you.

For this provision, not only do we bring along a professional display of invertebrates in naturalised enclosures, where your visitors can see the animals in naturalised environments, we provide two presenters to cope with larger crowds.
We also bring along our own 1.5kw professional line array PA system in order to entertain your visitors en-masse with The Wild and Deadly Show, Nick Wadham, the company owner presents this show nationally on stage in theatres and holiday parks, and has also appeared on national TV and radio.
If you want your event to stand out and attract even more attendees, you will want to consider this option.
As well as two handlers and the show, we provide our own six by three metre gazebo, and our own tables to place our invertebrates on, from which we can facilitate, and introduce your visitors to our amazing range of minibeasts from all around the world.
