This year we are bringing an even bigger range of amazing exotic minibeasts for you to see, hold and learn about.
We are sure you have heard of the bullet ant, made world famous by the legendary, great Steve Backshall, and on Sir David Attenborough’s Planet Earth series.
It is the most painful stinging insect in the world!
You have probably seen them on TV.
There are only two colonies of these in the UK and they will be at Carfest!
Until now, in a book, or on TV was the only place you would get to see them, this year, however, you will get to view them in person at the new and improved ANTFEST – at Bugfest, and One Big Carfest Supplied and sponsored by Ants HQ – the UK’s leading ant supplier – go check out their web site
With the bullet ants, we also have the LARGEST ant IN THE WORLD Dinomyrmex gigas – so big, that when you see them, you will be thinking to yourself “How can that exist?” PLUS – an active colony of leaf cutter ants and so much more!

Spiderfest has now become:
THE WALL OF SPIDERS
Hundreds of spiders from all around the world, all in naturalised environments for you to get up close to and see.
There will be stick insects over half a metre long, beetles, millipedes, Beefest with live bees in an observation hive, cockroaches and more – all ready for you to get up close and personal to, and if you feel brave enough – have a go at holding them.
Tarantula handling is restricted to adults only in order to ensure safeguarding of children from the irritant hairs these spiders possess.
In anticipation of the larger crowds expected this year, at the largest Carfest EVER, we have decided to launch our on-line ticket facility so that you can save time queuing to get in (remember the wait last time)? This way, all you have to do when you get to the front of the line is to show your e-ticket on your phone screen and we will simply scan you in and allocate your wristband/s.
You won’t need to print anything as your ticket will be emailed to you.

By purchasing your Bugfest admission ticket/s in advance you agree that: Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to handle tarantulas from a safeguarding stance. Once purchased, your ticket is NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances. You will receive access to the Bugfest handling and viewing activity for a one-off visit for and on the day you purchased your ticket, and that you can stay in the Bugfest attraction as long as you like. Once you exit the Bugfest exhibit, unless you have the all you can eat all day access ticket, you must purchase another ticket, either on-line or on the door on the day to regain admission. Not all displayed animals are suitable or available for handling due to their individual natures and personalities and or potency of venom they possess, or risk of pinch and envenomation, or if they are on a rest period to reduce stress and the possibility of bites or stings or pinches. The Bugfest handlers’ decisions on suitability for handling are final and non-negotiable and must be respected – remember, we work with these creatures on a daily basis and only want to keep them, and you, safe.
